Bethel Participates in Minnesota Campus Energy Challenge

  • Minnesota Campus Energy Challenge Web Site
    • Take shorter or warm rather than hot showers
    • Turn off lights when not in your room
    • Use compact fluorescent bulbs in all room lamps
    • Study in the Library and leave lights off in your room
    • Turn off classroom lights during chapel

New Green Initiatives

  • Brushaber Commons with Green Atrium Roof and other environmentally friendly features [Photo Archive]
  • Green Cleaning Agents in use by Facilities Management
  • Micropore cloth cleaners replacing disposable cleaning wipes
  • Recycled and Recyclable carpet squares that can be spot replaced.

Future Initiatives

  • Bethel and Sodexho are looking at additional ways in which to recycle other items such as food, recyclable plates, utensils etc., to help cut back on what goes into the waste container.
  • Facilities Management is looking at new machinery that is green labeled and environmentally friendly.
  • We are also looking at green label hand soap for the near future as well.


Bethel Recycles
Bethel's cardboard and paper recycling program reclaims one large container every 10 days. Commingled plastic, glass, and plastic are also collected with a 3 day pickup cycle.
