Bethel University has a site license for Sophos Anti-Virus, which is installed on all Bethel owned computers. Bethel Community members looking for anti-virus software should reference the information below as our site license does not cover personal computers. On top of virus protection ITS recommends that you keep your Operating System up-to-date and to follow Bethel's Internet Security guidelines.

Microsoft Windows

If you are looking for free anti-virus software to install the Help Desk suggests using Microsoft Security Essentials.

Microsoft Security Essentials (Windows XP, Vista and 7 Only)

Note: Windows 8 users, Microsoft Security Essentials is called (Windows) Defender and should be part of your Operating System installation.

Mac OS X

If you are looking for free anti-virus software to install the Help Desk suggests using Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac Home Edition.
