Diplomas

At the commencement exercises, graduates will receive only the cover and not their actual diploma. Actual diplomas are mailed after the graduate completes all requirements.

Seating Arrangements

At the commencement ceremony, graduates will be seated in the center section on the main floor of Benson Great Hall. Graduates do not need a ticket for themselves.

General seating for guests is available in the remaining main floor sections and in the balcony on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open one hour prior to the ceremony.

The main doors to the CLC will best provide access for persons with a disability. Handicapped-accessible seating is available on either level of Benson Great Hall. There is an elevator at the north end of the lobby area. For the hearing impaired, arrangements need to be made immediately with the commencement liaison at 651.638.6036.

Important Note Regarding Small Children

Children in attendance must have tickets for seating. Because of the formal nature of the event and the lively acoustics in Benson Great Hall, we encourage you to find childcare for children. However, we understand that some of you will want, or need, to bring children with you.

Elementary-aged children who are comfortable sitting quietly for the entire one and one-half hours are welcome in Benson Great Hall. Otherwise, please encourage an adult guest (or babysitter) to take advantage of the less formal setting in the Eastlund Room, where a large screen is available for viewing the ceremony.

Pre-school children (including babies) will enjoy the AC lounge (second floor of the AC building). A large screen is available for adults to view the ceremony, as well as a play area where a Veggie Tales video will also be showing.

Guests

All graduates are issued six tickets for guests. Additional tickets will be given out the week before commencement. There is seating available in overflow rooms for those who do not have tickets.
