Strategic Coalition Update - Case for Change

August 21, 2014 | 10 a.m.

The Strategic Coalition held its second two-day meeting a few weeks ago and you can read a session recap on the project website. The group reviewed a document called the Case for Change, which we have added to the website for the community to read as well. Finally, we asked Chris Gehrz, one of our faculty members serving on the coalition, to answer a few questions about his experience on the team as well as reasons he thinks the university needs to change and opportunities that give him hope for the future. We invite you to read his thoughtful responses on the project page.

The Case for Change presents the challenges we face in higher education and notes specific areas that will affect Bethel. We share it with you for two reasons. First, we want to honor our commitment to transparency with the Strategic Coalition and give you access to the materials the group is discussing. Second, we want the community to fully understand our situation and why change must occur.

Most importantly, we want you to share in our commitment to talk about these issues now so we can plan strategically for the next 10 years at Bethel. We again invite you to join the conversation and answer a few questions. Your responses are anonymous and will be shared with members of the Strategic Coalition. Please help us find opportunities that will leverage the strengths of Bethel well into our future.
