Biography
I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and started my career at the Native American Community Clinic (NACC); where I later directed the Behavioral Health Department and launched chemical health program in partnership with Red Lake Nation including Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and the Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) dosing program. I continue to support this work as the Director of Red Lake's ubran health progrmaming at the Mino Bimaadiziwin. I received my doctoral degree from University of Minnesota’s Family Social Science and Marriage and Family Therapy program and my master's degree from East Carolina University in Marriage and Family Therapy. I received by bachelor's degree from North Central University in Psychology with a minor in Theology.
I'm most proud of NACC's partner with Red Lake (my tribe) to provide chemcial health services in the urban core. Through this partnership we launched two culturally-informed programs in 2018: The MAT program, Wiidookodaadiwin Clinic: “We help each other” and the IOP, Wiinodewe: “Re-Indigenizing the Spirit''. Both programs demostrate success with improved client outcomes with substance use disorder, drug abstinence, stable housing, emergency room visits, and some wellbeing outcomes. Since then we have continued to grow our programs with support from state and federal grants.
