Biography

Lauren started her nursing career in 2019 as a Medical-Surgical/Progressive Care RN in Michigan for about 1.5 years before exploring the country in 2021-2022 as a traveling nurse. In 2022, she settled in Minneapolis and began her specialty training as a high-risk Labor & Delivery RN, where she continues to practice.

Lauren has known that she wanted to be a teacher since she was very young, and has experience teaching piano and swim lessons, and later tutoring nursing students during her undergraduate experience. Later, when she decided to become a nurse, she knew she would return to education in some form, so she began to work towards her MSN-Education, completed in 2023. She deeply loves her work caring for families as they welcome thier babies into the world, and loves to share the experience with nursing students.

Lauren is as passionate about individualized patient care as she is about individualized education for students who are preparing for their careers at the bedside. She belives in guiding students by viewing them as the holistic people that they are, and mentoring them as they navigate their academic journeys alongside their personal, spiritual and mental ones. She brings her perspective from working in several different environments to the classroom, laboratory, and clincial settings in order to best equip students for the various experiences they are bound to have as novice nurses.
