Event Description
Immigration has long been a divisive issue in the United States. Since the 1980s-90s, undocumented or illegal immigration has become by far the most challenging and divisive immigration issue in our society. It is often framed, including for many Christians, within the concerns and arenas of politics, economics, and culture wars. But for other Christians there is also a biblical priority and opportunity to engage the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God. The film "The Stranger: Immigrants, Scripture and the American Dream," seeks to engage this critical issue by weaving together biblical teaching and sharing immigrant stories. This event will include a showing of the film, power point presentation and discussion. Anyone from the Bethel University schools, alumni and surrounding community are welcome.
