Event Description
Bethel Education Advisory Board meetings will be held twice each school year with a purpose-driven format and agenda. We want to hear from the Bethel Education Board of Advisors what you see as the pressing needs in your schools, in teacher prep, and ongoing teacher professional development. Discussion times will attempt to draw strategies and planning direction from you and your colleagues on the Board. Second, we want to share some of the data we are receiving about our teacher candidates with you (1) to determine the data’s consistency with your experience and (2) to address both the areas of strength and the areas for growth that the data implies.
The first 15 minutes we will meet as a whole group and discuss a specific topic. At the October 21 meeting, the topic is for the PreK-12 educators to tell us the pressing needs, as you see them in your schools. Selfishly, we want to learn from you. The remaining 45 minutes, we will break into small groups (divided according to program) to discuss how to tackle the student needs in teacher preparation which you expressed.
