Teaching English Language Learners: Essential Practices for the College Classroom

Dr. Sarah Tahtinen-Pacheo | Room 208

This session focuses on four essential pedagogical practices used to support English learners in the classroom.  These practices go beyond “best practices” toward increased understanding of the diverse cultural and linguistic needs of this growing student population.  Current information on student writing and assessment practices will be included.

Dialog on Devotions

Dr. Ray Hanson | Room 210

There are many ways an instructor (or student) can lead an opening devotional time in class.  This session will highlight both structured and unstructured ways to engage in devotions. Bring your own ideas to share with others in an open forum discussion of how one might devote opening a sacred space for integrating faith with learning.
