Event Description
Authentic assessment has been defined as an evaluation that directly examines student performance on intellectual or performance tasks; thus authentic assessment evaluates the student’s ability to use knowledge, not just recall it. Nursing faculty redesigned testing in a skills lab course to enhance evaluation of critical thinking by applying the principles of authentic assessment. Two of these faculty will present an overview of authentic assessment and share how the revised exams in skills lab have promoted knowledge application.
