Event Description

The 2016 fair will be the 3rd year of this fall, on-campus job and internship fair. Over the past two years, 30+ top employers came to campus to recruit for internships and jobs. This year the fair will be even bigger and will feature employers in an even wider variety of industries, with opportunities for all majors. Be aware that many of these companies already have their jobs and internships for next summer already posted. Go to these companies’ websites, and review their current postings before the fair.

Career Fair Help Center

The Career Fair Help Center will be back for a second year. Last year alumni and professionals from General Mills, US Bank, UnitedHealth Group, and St. Jude Medical answered students questions at tables outside of The Underground.  Use your time with these professionals as you would in an informational interview. For example, ask them questions about their career journey and their corporation’s culture.  You could also have them review your resume and practice your elevator speech with them.

Peparing for the Fair

Students are expected to present themselves in a professional manner at the fair. This includes, but is not limited to:

1. Dressing professionally
2. Bringing copies of a professional resume
3. Researching employers before the fair
4. Preparing a professional introduction (e.g. elevator speech) and questions for the employers
5. Sending prompt thank you messages to employers
