Event Description

Come hear updates from Sigma Zeta as well as hear from keynote speaker Dr. Shaundra Daily, Associate Professor and Director of the Digital Arts and Sciences Program at University of Florida. This year's topic will be Designing for Passion: Technology-rich Environments to Support Interdisciplinary Learning.

For the past 13 years, has been a part of designing, implementing and evaluating learning environments that have technology and individual passion at their core. Building on the work of constructionist researchers, Daily has worked on interdisciplinary teams in education, computer science, biology, and others to create environments where students can build their understanding through the development of personally meaningful artifacts. In this address, Daily will share her experiences blending computational learning with storytelling and dance, and share how she has consistently seen student engagement soar.
