Event Description
Our four guest panelists are professional designers in 4 different work environments and in different places in their careers. Two are recent graduates who can talk first hand about entering the design field. The other two are design veterans and leaders within their organizations. They review young designers portfolios and can provide insights on what it takes to earn an internship or job.
This is an opportunity to meet these professionals and benefit from their wisdom and experience. So bring a note pad and something to write with! The discussion will touch on topics such as:
How to find a employer you would thrive working at
What do employers want to see (and don’t want to see) in a portfolio, resume, and during an interview
The differences between working as a designer in-house at a company compared to a large advertising agency or a small design boutique
How to continue growing as a designer after you’ve graduated and are no longer taking classes
Refreshments will be provided.
