Event Description

Women face unique challenges as we live out God's calling in our work lives. This lunch discussion is offered as a forum for considering some of these issues as well as exploring opportunities to hear God's invitation. Women from all areas of ministry and the workplace are invited to think deeply and theologically about our daily work as God's calling.

Work with Purpose began a conversation with women in the San Diego area in December 2017. This session, which includes lunch and time for discussion with other women, is intended to extend and widen that conversation. We are excited to see what might emerge when women come alongside each other in support of our mutual desire and efforts to integrate our Christian faith into everyday life. Join us for a meal, a devotional reflection by Shannon Vandewarker--Bethel Seminary graduate and author of Seeing the Miracle in the Mundane--and an extended discussion around the table as you share your own journey of faith integration and hear about the paths of other women.

About Our Guest

Shannon Vandewarker is passionate about helping people find God in their ordinary, everyday lives. This passion was fueled during her years of study as she earned her BA in Biblical Studies from Azusa Pacific University and a Masters of Divinity from Bethel Seminary San Diego. As the Program Coordinator for Fuller Seminary's Cascade Fellows Program, Shannon worked with professionals in many different industries, helping them create a vision for whole-life discipleship and develop the disciplines for how to live out their faith at work. Shannon lives in Escondido with her two young sons and husband, Dan, who is a pastor at Orchard Community Church. Shannon writes regularly at shannonvandewarker.com.
