Event Description

June 24-27, 2019
Join us this summer for Bethel University's unique approach to sports camps! We offer camps for players entering Grades 5-12 of all skill levels - from those with very little experience to those who are top athletes on their high school teams.

About the Camps
The Bethel University Christian Girls Basketball Camp strives to provide opportunities for players to grow spiritually and athletically in an environment that is both challenging and encouraging. Campers receive instruction from Christian coaches and basketball players who will promote spiritual growth and teach core basketball skills. The instruction is nondenominational so that players from all church backgrounds will feel welcome.

Camp Staff
Camp Director: Head Basketball Coach at Bethel University, Jon Herbrechtsmeyer leads the camp with over 30 years of collegiate coaching experience. Herbrechtsmeyer has helped train numerous athletes while at Gustavus Adolphus College, Wayne State University, the University of Sioux Falls, Cornell College, and Bethel University. "Herbie" has found great success among collegiate teams as he has taken a number of teams to the playoffs including, USF in 1995 and 1996, Cornell in 2000 and 2002, and Bethel in 2006, 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2014-2018.

Dwight Nelson joins Herbrechtsmeyer as a staff member for the Bethel University girls basketball camp. Nelson was a women's basketball coach at Bethel for seven years and a four year head coach at Meadow Creek High School. In his time at Meadow Creek, Nelson coached his team to three undefeated conference championships. He is currently the Director of Sports Ministries at Constance Free Church and Director of Professional Development for the 3D Institute.
