Event Description

You're invited to a conversational workshop that will address the questions below. Our time together will be educational, safe, and exploratory! A light breakfast will be provided as well as lunch.

  • How can we better understand visible and invisible aspects of culture?

  • How do elements of European-American culture and race shape the upbringing, experiences, values, and beliefs of white/European-American students?

  • How can we educate others on the origins of whiteness?

  • How can white/European Americans feel more connected to and feel appropriate pride in their European roots?

  • How can we recognize ways that whiteness can act as a default culture?

  • How can we better understand how European-American dominance contributes toward conscious and unconscious biases and assumptions?

  • How can we use new knowledge of culture to remove values attached to white norms and reduce unconscious bias?
