Event Description
The Sociology major at Bethel University is coming to an end at the end of Spring Semester 2019 as the department is going to be closed. Reconciliation Studies will continue as a major, minor, and program but will join the Department of Modern Languages starting fall 2019. The Sociology (and Sociocultural) major at Bethel University is being sunset, joining its partner major Anthropology, which began its sunset in 2014. The Sociology minor will continue but as part of the Political Science Department starting fall 2019.
To celebrate the accomplishments of our students, graduates, and faculty over the years and even decades, and reflect on the global challenges that are leading to such upsets and disruptions, the Department of Sociology and Reconciliation Studies will host a gathering of alumni, students, past and present faculty on Thursday, May 9, from 4-6 pm in the Eastlund Room at Bethel University. It will be a farewell event for the department and for sociology and sociocultural studies as majors.
Come enjoy a time of reflection and remembrance with presentations, celebrations, and refreshments.
