Event Description

July 27-28 or July 29-30, 2020

The camp is designed to develop self-confidence and discipline by challenging athletes in a high-energy and supportive environment. Individual play and the fundamentals of passing, setting, hitting, and serving will be stressed. This individual skills camp is for intermediate-level athletes (generally grades 5-8), who have been exposed to volleyball previously through physical education, beginning camps, school teams, or club organizations

For the summer of 2020, campers are asked to attend with one partner who they have had regular exposure to previously. Campers will be working in cohorts of 6-8 for the length of the camp. Social distancing will be practiced as required by the State of Minnesota, except for between campers and their partners. There is a robust plan for mitigating shared contact of volleyballs and for the disinfection of equipment between sessions. As State guidelines are updated, we will update our camp guidelines.

About the Camps

Bethel University Christian Volleyball Camps provide opportunities for players to reach their potential through athletic and spiritual training. Campers receive nondenominational instruction from Christian coaches and players so that players from all backgrounds feel welcome. Campers will get the personal instruction needed to improve in the physical parts of the game, but will also learn how faith can be incorporated into athletics.

For the summer of 2020, the ratio of staff to camper will be approximately 1:4.  With security-monitored entrances and exits to the campus, Bethel is a great location to send your daughter for camp.

Director
Megan Kirchoff just completed her tenth season as an assistant coach with the Royals volleyball program. Before joining the Royals Kirchoff played volleyball for the University of Missouri, then transferred to the University of Minnesota where she started for the 2009 Final Four team. Megan is an experienced camp coach, having worked camps at the University of Missouri, the University of Minnesota, Kokoro Volleyball Club, Bethel, and various satellite camps around Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Camp Assistants
Current Bethel University players serve as assistant coaches and small-group leaders.
