Event Description

Bethel University Women’s Soccer Camp: 2020 Girls: u12-u14 & u15-u18 

Bethel University women’s soccer is excited to announce that they are running the 2020 All-Girls Soccer Camp, July 15-17. This camp is open to u12-u18 (2001-2008 birth years) girls of all levels. This camp will focus on individual skills, speed, quickness and agility while focusing on different themes each day. 

Day 1: 1v1 attacking skills Ball skills: dribbling moves, escape moves. Shooting/Finishing 

Day 2: Passing: Proper passing technique Passing patterns to goal 

Day 3: Crossing/Finishing Attacking the goal from crosses Shooting/Finishing Games 

U12-U14: 9-10:30am U15-U18: 11:30-1:00pm 

Due to Covid19 and social distancing requirements this camp will adhere to the MN Department of Health and Bethel University’s Covid19 guidelines. Camp staff will work to make the sessions safe, healthy while having fun learning new soccer skills and techniques. 

The Camp Directors will update registered families if/when restrictions are removed allowing for contact during the soccer sessions. 

CAMP STAFF: 

Ben Linder Ben Linder became the second full-time head women's soccer coach at Bethel University in May 2019. He previously served as an assistant for the men's team and was the Girls Coaching Director at Minneapolis United. Ben first fell in love with “Jogo Bonito”, the beautiful game, while growing up in São Paulo, Brasil. 

Amanda Maxwell Amanda was the Bethel University Women’s soccer coach for 9 years. Amanda went to Stillwater High-school where she was named Ms. Minnesota Soccer, Gatorade Player of the Year and was an All American. She then went on to play for Marshall University before transferring to the the University of Minnesota where she was named team captain, Offensive Player of the Year and Big Ten Scholar Athlete. She has been coaching club soccer at Woodbury and St.Croix and as the Bethel coach she was named 2016 MIAC Coach of the year. 

Tarah Hobbs Tarah is entering her 3rd season at Bethel. She serves as the goalie coach for both the men and women’s teams and works as an assistant coach alongside Ben Linder. Tarah played at the University of Minnesota. Hobbs left Minnesota as one of best goalies in Gopher history. She was the first Minnesota player to receive the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year award, which she did as a freshman, and was named All-Big Ten twice in her career. After graduating from the U of MN, Tarah played professionally in Sweden before moving back to Minnesota to start her coaching career. Tarah has also coached at Minneapolis United and other local clubs in Minnesota.
