Event Description

For the safety and wellbeing of our students, employees, and guests, Bethel has decided to cancel this event given the rising number of COVID-19 cases nationwide. 

 

Ever wanted to learn more about planets and constellations? How about newspaper or broadcast journalism? Maybe you're interested in business, nursing, practicing Spanish, or exploring real-world issues through a Christian lens.  Royal Academy offers a variety of ways for high school and middle students to dive into a subject that interests them.

-Astronomy Camp - A camp for middle school students to give them hands-on experience with observational astronomy and topics relevant to modern space exploration.

  • Session 1: Planet & Exoplanet Colonization
  • Session 2: Introduction to telescopes & observational astronomy
  • Night Session: Observing outdoors (bring bug spray)
  • Session 3: Spectroscopy
  • Session 4: Rover robotics
  • Night Session 2: Observing outdoors
  • Session 5: How stars change over time & solar observations
  • Session 6: Basic Rocketry

-Seeking Truth Journalism Camp - High School Journalism workshop for newspaper, online, broadcast, and yearbook publications.  Work with Bethel faculty, local high school teachers, and Bethel Clarion student staff to develop skills in writing and communication for college and beyond.

-Spanish Camp - Immersion Spanish language camp with fun and engaging classes.  Learn conversational Spanish through hands on activities, music, sports, art and movement.

  • Students will get their passport ready and engage in a journey throughout various Spanish speaking countries.  Students will learn about traditions and customs of Argentina, Guatemala, Mexico, and Spain.  Preparing typical dishes from these regions, performing skits, and interacting with native Spanish speakers will enhance the immersion experience.

Cancellations

Cancellations will be accepted until June 1st, the deposit will be refunded, less a $10 service fee.
