  • Consistent with CDC and MDH guidelines, face coverings are recommended indoors, regardless of vaccination status, when 6' social distancing cannot be maintained. Face coverings are required while in academic settings (classrooms, labs, etc.) when 6' distancing cannot be maintained.
  • There are currently no capacity restrictions on the size of university events, but Bethel community members and guests are strongly encouraged to consider distancing to the extent possible to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Event Description

All alumni are invited to play in the fifth annual Alumni Broomball Tournament! Round up a team of at least 6 players, come dressed in warm winter gear, bring your own broomball stick, and show up to win!

Pool play will take place throughout the day at Bethel's on-campus broomball rink leading up to our 4-team bracket play! All members of the championship team will receive BU-branded Carhartt hats!

Registration Details:
Cost to enter is $75 per team.
Must have 6 players to enter with no more than 12 players on a team.
Each team must have at least 2 female players (2 females must be on the ice for a team at all times).
Each team can have up to 2 non-alumni players.

Tournament Details:
Note: This year's tournament will consist of 8 teams.

  • Team captains are to report to Bethel's on-campus broomball rink to check in their team 15 minutes prior to the start of their pool's start time.

  • The first pool will begin at noon at the Bethel broomball rink.

  • Pool play will consist of 2 pools with 4 teams in each pool. Each game will be played on full ice.

  • Every team will be guaranteed 3 games in pool play. Each game will be 26 minutes each (12-minute halves with a 2-minute halftime).

  • The top two teams from each pool (determined by the best record or other tiebreakers) will enter bracket play and compete for the championship!

*If your team must forfeit, please notify the Office of Alumni and Family Relations at alumni@bethel.edu by noon on Friday, January 21.

Noon | Pool A Play Begins
2:45 p.m. | Pool B Team Captain Check-in
3 p.m. | Pool B Play Begins
6 p.m. | Championship Bracket Play Begins

Cancellations

If your team must forfeit, please contact the Office of Alumni and Family Relations at alumni@bethel.edu by noon on January 21. Refunds will not be issued after January 21.
