Event Description

Student publication leaders will explore print and digital storytelling leadership as they prepare to be editors/leaders or future editors/leaders on their student newspapers, news magazines, literary magazines, yearbooks, and broadcasts. Students will work with their teams from their schools and peers from other schools. They'll learn from some of the top journalists and journalism teachers in the state, including Star Tribune photojournalist Mark Vancleave and Minnesota Reformer investigative reporter Deena Winter, and Stillwater Area High School's Laurie Hansen and Rachel Steil. With help from college journalists, you'll study good work and produce great work and get organized to lead your publications in the fall. They'll probably win some awards, too. This is an overnight camp; more information to come.

Overnight accommodation will be provided in Lissner Hall. Housing is suite-style with each suite having 3 bedrooms, a living area, a private bathroom with separate rooms for toilet/showers, and a vanity area. Each bedroom has 2 twin XL beds, 2 desks and chairs, and a wardrobe. Students will be housed with other students from their camp, with up to 6 students per suite. Roommate requests can be emailed to conference-event@bethel.edu. Students will be supervised by a Bethel Resident Director and a team of overnight Hosts hired from our pool of Bethel Student Resident Assistants.

Cancellations

Cancellations will be accepted until June 1. The payment will be refunded, less a $30 service fee.
