Event Description
The Sun will be eclipsed on April 8, 2024 between 12:49 p.m. and 3:14 p.m., with peak eclipse at 2:02 p.m. Minnesota will be able to view the Sun being covered up to 75% during this time, and the next significant solar eclipse viewable from Minnesota will be in 2029, so don't miss this one! Come join us to safely observe the eclipse using one of Bethel’s telescopes with a solar filter or a pair of eclipse glasses.
**Important Safety: Do not look directly at the Sun unless you are looking through either a solar filter or eclipse glasses. Sunglasses are not sufficient protection.**
Weather-dependent: Eclipse viewing outside depends on weather conditions. If it's too cloudy to observe, we'll have a livestream of the eclipse in BAC264 (Introductory Physics lab) next to the BAC lounge.
