Event Description
Come learn more about the American Scientific Affiliation, an organization whose goals are to promote the integration of faith and learning in the sciences.
We will also hear from Bethel’s Dr. Ellis Doan who will speak on “Liturgy in the Laboratory: Scientific Practice as Spiritual Formation.” She approaches this topic as a Christian biologist, who believes that science provides a unique vantage point for interpreting the book of nature. While it is common to ask what nature speaks about God, the formative communities that perform the interpretive task are often ignored. Come join the ASA North Star Chapter as we consider how science and Christianity are both practices embodied in formative communities, and how the liturgies of these spaces shape our hearts and minds.
Following the talk there will be time for some snacks and fellowship.
