U.S. News & World Report released its annual college rankings list on September 9 and Bethel University moved from a Midwest regional grouping to the national university list this year.
Bethel was the third highest Minnesota university and one of the highest schools in the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) on the list. The University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and the University of St. Thomas were the only Minnesota schools ahead of Bethel on the list. Among the schools in the CCCU, Bethel was the second-highest governing member school with Biola University in California only a few spots higher.
U.S. News uses the Carnegie Classification of Institutions in Higher Education to group similar schools together in their various groups. A recent change in Bethel’s Carnegie Classification also resulted in the change on the U.S. News rankings list.
