Colleagues:

This past spring, Provost Deb Harless was scheduled to have a three-month sabbatical. However, given Bethel’s financial challenges and the work ahead, she chose to postpone her sabbatical indefinitely.

Recently, doctors have discovered that Deb’s husband, Mark, has cancer. Deb, with the Cabinet’s support, requested to take her sabbatical and it has been approved by the board, starting November 1. In her absence, Deb’s direct reports will meet with other Cabinet members as assigned.

Please join me in praying for Deb and Mark during this time. May God give them wisdom, rest, and renewal.

Serving Together,

Jay
