Biography

Kajsa (pronounced "Kice" like "rice" with an "ah" at the end) Larson is an affiliate faculty member in the Languages and Cultures Department, beginning in Fall 2025. While her name is Swedish, she will be teaching Spanish language classes and specializes in 20th and 21st century literature and culture of Spain. She earned a BA from Gustavus Adolphus College, where she ran track and graduated in 2001, and ultimately a Master’s degree and Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. For the last 15 years, Kajsa worked as a Spanish professor and community engagement coordinator at Northern Kentucky University in the Cincinnati area. Recently, she moved back to Minnesota to be closer to friends, family, and her childhood church and feels so lucky to work at Bethel. Outside of work, she and her husband enjoy biking, yoga, and the occasional casual tennis match. She loves to spend time with family nearby and hang out with her new great niece and two great nephews. Kajsa also loves to cook and makes artisanal bread and dark chocolate.
