Biography
Lydia Shull graduated from Bethel University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. She returned to Bethel as an employee in 2022 and serves as the primary academic administrator for the Department of Music and Performing Arts. She oversees department communications, performance scholarship applications, music ensemble and lesson registrations, and maintains all music libraries. Have a question for the department but don't know who to ask? Emailing Lydia is a great place to start, or stop by her office in CC301. In addition to her administrative duties, she serves as a graphic designer for the department, creating posters, social media graphics, and programs for department events.
A self-proclaimed music theory nerd, she is only slightly obsessed with harmonic analysis, and enjoys listening to a wide variety of music from 19th century symphonies to mandolin covers of Bach preludes and Korean Pop. She loves to connect with students and is always happy to talk about her fluffy cat, Mononoke, or share her favorite online lecture on the philosophy of 20th century serialism.
