Biography
At Bethel University, Janelle has been an adjunct instructor for multiple courses in the RN to BSN program from 2010 to the program's closing in 2024. Courses taught include: NURS330H Ethical Theory Applied Nursing, NURS365 The Professional Nurse, NURS400 Public Health Nursing Theory, NURS401 Public Health Nursing Clinical, NURS410 Nursing Informatics, NURS435 Introduction to Research and Evidence-Based Practice, and NURS436 Application of Research Practice.
Janelle joined the Post-Baccalaureate Nursing (B.S) faculty team as adjunct in spring 2024, teaching the population-based nursing clinical course, NURS446 Practicum VI Population-Based Nursing.
Janelle is also empolyed at Stratis Health, a quality and safety organization as a program manager, and is currently a quality improvement advisor for the Care Coordination initiative in Minnesota, Michigan and Wisconsin for the Superior Health Quality Alliance as part of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) 12th Scope of Work. Through this work, Ms. Shearer leads a virtual collaborative, community-based approach to improving care coordination and care transitions across the region and provides coaching and technical assistance to Minnesota communities, involving multiple health care settings and community-based organizations. Janelle helps identify evidence-based best practices in health care processes and procedures and works with the healthcare professionals and community partners to adapt and adopt these practices to improve coordination of care and prevent hospital admissions and readmissions.
