Dr. Tiffany is a Professor of Nursing, Healthcare Education Consultant, and Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach. In her academic role, she is involved in designing and implementing simulations in the lab and in virtual settings; the use educational technology; and teaches Innovations in Nursing Education and Nursing Informatics. She also chairs the Credentialing and Privileging sub-committee of the Board of Directors for the Fairview Care system in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Tiffany has presented nationally and internationally on the use of simulation to improve outcomes, the use of the virtual simulation platforms such as vSim and Second Life for nursing and medical education, and on the use of technology to improve student outcomes. She is a Certified Nurse Educator, Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator, and was inducted into the Academy of Nursing Education Fellows in September 2016. During her 2016-2017 sabbatical, she was the National League for Nursing Technology Scholar in Residence.

Biography

Wide range of nursing experience including NICU, Pediatrics, Adult Med-Surg, Obstetrics, Psych/Mental Health. Also has expertise in Simulation, in the hospital, lab and virtual; use of technology to enhance teaching and learning; and debriefing associated with simulation.

Research interests

Co-investigator: The Effect of Evaluator Training on Inter-Rater Reliability of High Stakes Testing. Working with Dr. Ann Holland, Dr. Vicki Schug, Dr. Linda Blazovich, Dr. Deborah Bambini to extend the original research sponsored by the National League for Nursing. Study Timeline: January 2016 – June 2018. Co-investigator: The impact of an innovative patient centered care coordination clinical modules on the learning of undergraduate nursing students. Edgren Scholar Research Project Working with Dr. Kathleen Tilton and Dr. Ann Holland. Study completed July 2015. Primary investigator: Second Life Virtual Public Health Clinical Replacement.
