January Mission Trip

Sumpango, Guatemala

Date January 25-31, 2026
Fundraising goal $15,000 (team of 10)

Bethel University is excited to partner with Breaking Cycles, a locally led nonprofit ministry in Sumpango, Guatemala. Breaking Cycles seeks to break harmful cycles—such as abuse, addiction, poor nutrition, poverty, and illiteracy—by empowering Guatemalans and modeling a positive, Christ-centered way of life.

Throughout the week, Bethel students will join Betty Merida and the Breaking Cycles team in a variety of ministry projects. Students will work alongside local leaders to help build a new home, serve at the training center and orphanage, and participate in home visits that offer encouragement and share the love of Christ. Along the way, they’ll experience the beauty and hospitality of Guatemalan culture.

The trip concludes with a day in Antigua for debriefing and enjoying one of the world’s most beloved historic cities.
