Event Description

The Bethel community and its friends are invited to the Bethel History Center's fall event:

The Amazing Story of the Bethel Nursing Program
9:30-10 a.m. | Refreshments | $3
10-11 a.m. | Program | Free

Join us for an inspiring time as we celebrate the providence and timing of God in the establishment of Bethel's Nursing program. We will see a pictorial account of the program's predecessor, Mounds-Midway School of Nursing (MMSN). Tom Johnson, former Bethel VP, will describe the time of transition when Bethel began to offer a B.S. in Nursing in 1982 as MMSN phased out its diploma program. Beth Peterson, longtime Professor of Nursing, will recount how Bethel's program has flourished and will also describe the many related graduate programs now available. We will also honor Eleanor Edman, founding director of the Bethel Nursing program.

If you have a nursing program story of your own, stop by our oral history table for a brief interview during the 9:30-10 refreshment time or after the program.

An offering will be received to further the important work of the Friends of the History Center.
