Event Description
The advent of High-Through Put DNA Sequencing has ushered in a new era of study in the cellular world. Researchers can now access DNA sequences from organisms around the globe to help tackle some of the toughest challenges facing modern medicine. Work by Dr. James Christenson and Kristen Bishop (F19) is leveraging DNA sequencing data to track down new antibiotics against M. tuberculosis, a bacterial infection that took the lives of 1.3 million people globally in 2017.
