Event Description

July 23-24, 2020
This individual skills camp is designed for female athletes with at least one season of competitive volleyball experience entering grades 8-9. Athletes who attend should have experience playing specific positions of setter, hitter, or defensive specialist. Individual play and fundamentals specific to each position will be stressed.

For the summer of 2020, campers are asked to attend with one partner who they have had regular exposure to previously. Campers will be working in cohorts of 6-8 for the length of the camp. Social distancing will be practiced as required by the State of Minnesota, except for between campers and their partners. There is a robust plan for mitigating shared contact of volleyballs and for the disinfection of equipment between sessions. As State guidelines are updated, we will update our camp guidelines

About the Camps
Bethel University Christian Volleyball Camps provide opportunities for players to reach their potential through athletic and spiritual training. Campers receive nondenominational instruction from Christian coaches and players so that players from all backgrounds feel welcome. Campers will get the personal instruction needed to improve in the physical parts of the game, but will also learn how faith can be incorporated into athletics.

For the summer of 2020, the ratio of staff to camper will be approximately 1:4. With security-monitored entrances and exits to the campus, Bethel is a great location to send your daughter for camp.

Megan Kirchoff just completed her tenth season as an assistant coach with the Royals' volleyball program. Before joining the Royals, Kirchoff played volleyball for the University of Missouri, then transferred to the University of Minnesota where she started for the 2009 Final Four team. Megan is an experienced camp coach, having worked camps at the University of Missouri, the University of Minnesota, Kokoro Volleyball Club, Bethel, and various satellite camps around Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Current Bethel University players will serve as assistant coaches and small-group leaders.

The camp fee of $70 includes instruction, volleyball, devotional materials, and video lessons of at-home volleyball practice drills that will be provided by email following camp.
