Event Description

Embracing Change; Following God’s vision for your life and career.

Join us for breakfast, discussion and guest speaker, Lexi Young, as we explore how to embrace
change, rather than resist it, in our lives and careers.

About our guest

Lexi is a 2016 Bethel Alum; B.A. in Business-Marketing and Minor in Leadership Studies. She works for Travelers as an Agile Coach Director, and previously worked in the retail industry for Best Buy Corporate and Sleep Number HQ. Lexi started her career in Education Technology as a Project Manager and has been excited about her transition from Project to Product work. Lexi has deep knowledge and experience working with IT team individual contributors to Executive and C-Suite Leaders. Helping teams and leaders make decisions, think critically, and solve complex problems is what motivates Lexi to continue working as a new mom.

As an Agile Coach, Lexi guides organizations and teams through change as a change agent and servant leader. She helps identify and remove impediments that hold an organization back from thriving in our technical, ever-innovating world. Her favorite part of her role is being a Servant Leader to other employees and empowering them in their work as they drive to increase company efficiencies. In addition to her 9-5, Lexi works part time as a Small & Large Group Fitness Instructor for Life Time and spent nine years coaching High School Varsity sports for Eden Prairie High School. These two additional "coaching" hobbies have been instrumental in encouraging Lexi to focus on her Health & Wellness, as she hasn’t always been the "picture of health."

Born with a bone discrepancy called Hemihypertrophy, she underwent multiple surgeries between elementary school and college. Navigating through the constant physical change challenged Lexi to rely on God at an early age, and she believes, although it was hard, having this diagnosis strengthened her relationship with the Lord. It taught her to rely on God, even when the future seemed hazy.

Lexi and her husband, Joe, met at Bethel in Lissner Hall, and have been married for 5 years. Joe works as a Wealth Advisor for a small firm in St. Paul, and enjoys golfing and participating in his Friday Bible Study. Lexi and Joe praise God for their journey as a young couple and joyfully welcomed their son, Jamison, into the world this last August. Their family attends Westwood Community Church in Chanhassen, MN, and both Joe and Lexi enjoy giving their love, time, and effort to their family, friends, church, and high school/college students.

This world is full of personal and professional change, but Lexi believes it’s our attitude to change, when rooted in faith, that can open the door for God to do incredible things in our lives.
