Session Title: Bethel Business: A Better Way.
At its best, business fosters trust, innovation, and mutual benefit by satisfying the needs of customers, employees, and owners. Yet rising demands, financial pressure, and rapid change too often allow self-centered performance to erode relationships, integrity, creativity, and trust. Business can do better: Meaningful work and lasting value emerge when people – not profits – come first. Join us as Dr. Brown makes the Biblical and business cases for this better way.
About our Speaker:
Tom J. Brown is Dean of the School of Business at Bethel University. He joined Bethel in fall 2025 after serving 28 years at the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University. He received his Ph.D. in business from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He remains an active scholar, recognized among the top 2% of scientists worldwide. Over the past 25 years he has studied what happens when frontline employees are internally motivated to satisfy their customers’ needs. More importantly, Tom and his wife, DiAnn, have raised four fantastic children and remain actively engaged with their faith and the local church. DiAnn currently volunteers as a pastoral resident at City Church in Minneapolis.
Note: Mentoring a current Bethel student is another great way for alumni to get connected, and we are always looking for more mentors to join. Learn more about the BethelBiz, COMMentor and The 25 Mentorship Program by visiting our website.
