Event Description
The Department of Music and Theatre presents trumpeter Asha Anderson, student of Steven Thompson, and pianist Mikayla Peterson, student of Herbert Johnson, in Senior Recitals. Asha, accompanied by Herbert Johnson, will play the following program:
Johann Nepomuk Hummel: Allegro con spirito (from "Trumpet Concerto in E Major")
John Williams: With Malice Toward None (from "Lincoln")
Eugene Bozza: Dialogue pour deux Trompettes
1. Allegro maestoso
2. Moderato
Mikayla will play the following program:
George Frideric Handel: Passacaglia in g minor, HWV 432
Joaquin Turina: Zambra (Movement I from "Cinq Danses Gitanes, Op. 55")
Bela Bartok: Sechs Tanze in bulgarischen Rhythmen aus Mikrokosmos, Nos. 149 and 153
Franz Joseph Haydn: Sonata in E-Flat, HOB:XVI/16
Edvard Grieg: Heimweh (Longing for Home), Op. 57, No. 6
Antonin Dvorak: Presto (from Slavonic Dances, Op. 46, No. 8)
Asha's recital is presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. Mikayla's recital is presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Bachelor of Music Education degree with an emphasis in Instrumental K-12.
