Bethel’s Biokinetics Club Hosts Fitness Camp for Kids

Elementary-aged kids enjoyed activities that reinforced the importance of healthy choices, including a balanced diet.

Bethel University’s Biokinetics Club hosted its third Bethel University Fun Fitness (BUFF) Camp for Kids last fall. Fifty-one children in grades K-5 attended the interactive camp, where they learned what it looks like to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

Kids engaged in many fun activities, but the most popular were the handcrafted obstacle course and the parachute. Sodexo, the on-campus dining services and catering provider for Bethel, sponsored each child with a free meal in the Monson Dining Center where they received instruction and encouragement on how to choose a healthy, balanced plate. Each attendee also received a t-shirt, a “make-it-yourself” healthy trail mix, and a goody bag.

The Biokinetics Club volunteers were grateful for the day’s generous sponsors, including Bethel Student Government (BSG), Bethel’s Admissions Office, Medtronic, TCF Bank, and Target, and everyone who made this free day of camp possible. It was a great day to teach area kids how to maintain wellness and introduce them to what Bethel has to offer.
