Miranda Powers, vice president of student experience

Miranda Powers has been named vice president of student experience at Bethel University.

After an extensive nationwide search, Miranda Powers has been named vice president of student experience at Bethel University. With almost 20 years of experience in higher education as both an administrative leader and student-facing staff member, Powers will play a key role in advancing the university’s commitment to providing a student experience centered on Jesus.

“I deeply believe in the mission of Bethel University and how it transforms students,” says Powers, who currently serves as Bethel’s associate vice president of student life. “Since its inception, Bethel has been a leader in boldly standing for truth, embracing difficult questions, and leading in liminal spaces, and I am honored to help architect a compelling and Christ-centered student experience both now and into the future.”

Since coming to Bethel in 2004, Powers has influenced and improved nearly every aspect of the student experience, including admissions, residence life, career development and calling, and counseling services. She served as an adjunct instructor, resident director, and career specialist before becoming associate dean for campus engagement, dean of student programs, and finally associate vice president of student life. She is also a licensed professional counselor with expertise in lifespan development, mental health, and spiritual formation, positioning her to design a comprehensive and transformative experience for students across Bethel’s four schools.

With a proven track record of strategic decision-making and trusted collaboration, Powers is a committed Christ-follower who leads from a deep personal faith and compassion for others. In her new role—which begins on April 1—she will oversee the Office of Student Life, the Office of Christian Formation and Church Relations, the Office of Athletics, the Center for Access and Integration, and the Wellness Center, forging collaborative partnerships across the university and building organizational systems to improve student success.

“For almost two decades, Miranda has provided strong leadership to impact students’ academic, social, and spiritual development in significant ways,” says President Ross Allen. “I am so excited to see how God will use Miranda to help us elevate and enhance our focus on Christ and our student experience in the years to come.”
