Work with Purpose student idea grants are $200-$1,200 given to help Bethel Seminary students develop leadership and programming in one or more of the themes related to work, vocation, and economics. This initial pilot of this program is open to all seminary students currently completing any portion (or all) of their internship in 2016.

Proposed programming must be implemented within a church setting by May 2017 and pursue the following goals.

  • Develop materials and/or knowledge within a church setting (does not need to be the student's internship site) in ways that contribute to their personal and pastoral formation.
  • Inspire change in the church that will lead people to see their ordinary work as a place of extraordinary discipleship, stewardship of gifts, and service to the world.
  • Result in clear congregant outcomes.

Check out the student idea grant guidelines and timeline (pdf) for more information. Feel free to contact us to explore ideas, identify helpful resources, etc.

Once you're ready to apply, submit an online application with your proposal. We will follow up soon after your proposal is received.
