Hometown

I was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, spent 8 years (age 2 to 10) in Brasil while my parents were missionaries, lived in the Chicago area during junior high and high school, and moved back to Minnesota when I started Bethel right out of high school.

My favorite things about Bethel University

My love for Bethel started back in 1978 and has continued ever since. The atmosphere of Bethel has the fragrance of Christ and it is such a blessing to be surrounded by those who love Jesus. Both campuses are situated in beautiful settings that make walking to class/work a delight. One of Bethel's mission statements is, "We celebrate our diversity as well as what we hold in common." As a community we are joyful believers, innovative thinkers, faithful peacemakers, gracious servants, humble leaders, creative visionaries, ambitious dreamers, thoughtful neighbors, inspired scholars, and adventurous Christ followers. I love that Bethel has a list like this and that it is part of our mission's goal.

My favorite thing about the Twin Cities and life

I love to walk outside during spring, summer and fall. The variety of lakes, parks and walking trails in the Twin Cities is wonderful. I like the fact that we have two different cities that hold innumerous opportunities for music, theater, and a list too long to mention. I love to read, watch old movies, eat chocolate, and spend time with my family and friends.

My favorite things about being a Student Success Coach

I love to encourage people in as many ways as is humanly possible. Technology has made getting an undergraduate and graduate degree within reach for untold amounts of people. To be a part of helping others reach their educational goals and share the joy with them when their goal is reached, is nothing short of amazing.

Before working at Bethel

I worked for Room&Board. I loved being able to help people buy beautiful furniture and decorate their homes in their own unique style.
