Fight for Something

A scholarship to support Karen students

At Bethel, we work to make the world a better place by developing servant-leaders and scholars through Christ-centered education. This mission has led us to partner with organizations that promote reconciliation and thriving for all people as a reflection of the House of God on Earth. One such organization is The Urban Village, which focuses on empowering Karen and Karenni youth. Together, we've created the Fight for Something scholarship to put a Bethel experience within reach for more Karen students.

We estimate that each Karen student needs an additional $44,000 in gift aid over the span of their Bethel experience. If selected for the Fight for Something scholarship, students receive a renewable scholarship of $3,500 per year from the Urban Village, and up to an additional $7,000 per year from Bethel when enrolled full-time in the College of Arts & Sciences. Students must also apply to Bethel to be considered for the scholarship.
