Biology
The biology program at Bethel gives you the space and tools to investigate the wonder and intricacies of life. We do science in fully equipped facilities, including a human cadaver lab, biotechnology lab, greenhouse, and 247 acres of outdoor laboratories.
Biochemistry/Molecular Biology
The biochemistry degree is offered jointly by the departments of biology and chemistry. You’ll gain a strong interdisciplinary foundation in biochemistry and molecular biology that is attractive to employers, graduate schools, and professional programs such as medical, dental, and physician assistant.
Biokinetics
Bethel’s fast-growing biokinetics program prepares students to serve and lead as they promote health and wellness in all aspects of life. It’s about cutting-edge, award-winning research, collaboration with distinguished professors, integrated academics to prepare you for a wide range of careers, and hands-on experience.
Chemistry
Bethel has one of the top chemistry programs in the nation. It's about cutting-edge research, distinguished faculty, highly successful graduates, and an active science community—all within a Christian learning environment.
Neuroscience
Stand out with a neuroscience degree and prepare for medical school and emerging careers through hands-on experience inside and outside the classroom. This researched-focused program combines courses from biology and psychology, as well as chemistry, mathematics, and more.I’m not doing this because I want to save the world one heart valve at a time, but because I get to impact students who then impact others.
Angela Stoeckman ’97Associate Professor of Chemistry
Research definitely gave me the confidence that I have something that I can contribute and something that shows too that I’m willing to work hard to get the results. And it sort of opened the door for a lot of things in my life.
Jennifer Berger. ’07Children’s Minnesota
I’m going to graduate from Bethel having done things that I would have never thought I could do, and research was a big one.
Maria Pecoraro ’19University of Minnesota Medical Center
Today, many people think that science and faith are mutually exclusive. Nothing is further from the truth. To me, studying science is a form of worship.
Brent Kobielush ’04Cargill Inc.
I was well-prepared to do a lot of work, and Bethel’s arduous biology and chemistry classes helped me understand the foundations of science really well.
Rachael Goldsmith ’19Hennepin Healthcare
I thought I needed to go to a large institution to get the research experience I need to apply for medical doctor/Ph.D. programs. I was so unbelievably wrong about that! The ability to build rapport with professors and having extracurricular research options available as soon as freshman year were what convinced me to stay.
