Placement Exams
Some academic programs at Bethel require students to complete a placement exam before registering for courses. These exams help ensure you’re enrolled in the course level that matches your current knowledge and skills. Currently, Bethel offers placement exams in mathematics and languages.
Math placement exams
Math placement is especially important if you plan to pursue a major that requires a specific math course—or if you’re entering a program like elementary education, which follows a unique math pathway. Placement is typically determined by ACT/SAT math scores, but in some cases, you'll need to take an online exam.
Language placement exams
If you've studied another language—such as Spanish, French, or American Sign Language (ASL)—you may be able to continue your studies at Bethel by placing into the appropriate level. This ensures you’re not repeating material and are meeting general education or major requirements efficiently.
