Gregg Harris, a 1989 Bethel Seminary of the East graduate, was recently named international director of Thru the Bible. Founded by John Vernon McGee, Thru the Bible is an international radio ministry that shares God’s Word through daily Bible study, Sunday sermons, and a free Bible study guide that leads listeners on a five-year journey through all of scripture. In 2010, Thru the Bible reached 200 countries and was translated into more than 100 languages.
The ministry’s motto, “The whole Word for the whole world,” demonstrates its ultimate goal of reaching the entire world with scripture through the radio.
Harris received his Master of Divinity degree from Bethel Seminary of the East in 1989. He’s remembered by John Worgul, Bethel Seminary of the East faculty associate, as a people-loving student. “He was always engaging on a human level—loving to interact with people, playing sports on break with the guys, and interested in others,” says Worgul. “It is impossible not to like the guy.”
In his new role, Harris will work to expand the broadcast ministry to more countries and new dialects. He also plans to implement new ministry projects, add new business partners, and harness technology to reach more people with the gospel. “As international director,” he says, “it will be my privilege to share with you exciting updates so you can rejoice with us and pray for God’s direction, provision, and blessing.”
