Patrick Brooke Named CFO of Bethel University

Patrick Brooke becomes Bethel's new CFO on August 15.

Bethel University President Jay Barnes has appointed Patrick Brooke to be the new chief financial officer of the university. Brooke has 30 years of progressive financial management at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. He will begin at Bethel on August 15. "I am excited that Pat Brooke is joining our team at Bethel. His references were stellar and the collaborative spirit he has displayed over many years in an academic setting make him a great fit for Bethel,” says Barnes. “He will bring outstanding financial skills. It will be great to have his voice as part of the President’s Cabinet and as the leader of the budget committee.”

Brooke was hired at Wheaton College in 1984 as controller and was the senior director of financial operations. “I have long been aware of Bethel’s excellent reputation among Christian institutions,” says Brooke. “As I got to know many of the people at Bethel, the opportunity to be the new CFO became increasingly more attractive. I am privileged to be invited to join this administrative team, and I am excited to be able to continue my service at Bethel University.”

Before starting at Wheaton, Brooke worked in accounting. He has skills in budget management, complex bond issues, risk management, and financial policy development. He also has training in comprehensive financial analysis, which includes trend line projections and peer group comparisons.

He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting. He then received his MBA in finance from DePaul University. He is married with two kids and attends Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois.
