Bethel Seminary Alumni Live Out Their Mission

Bethel Seminary alumni Brian S’97 and Jill S’95 Dejewski were featured on Minneapolis/ St. Paul NBC affiliate KARE11 when they gave up their two-story suburban home for a trailer in Maple Hill Estates, a mobile home park in Corcoran, Minnesota, northwest of Minneapolis.

The couple’s connection to Maple Hill began 18 years ago, when Jill volunteered at a vacation Bible school there. Since then, their love for the families of the mobile home park has defined their mission. They created a nonprofit organization “Mobile Hope,” and their efforts have grown into programs that include after-school homework help, English classes, food distribution, legal assistance, and summer camp. As their involvement with the Maple Hill community increased, the Dejewski family recently decided that it was time to fully live out their mission by moving into the mobile home neighborhood so they could better serve the children and families they loved.
