Advising Week

What is Advising Week?

You have access to a team of advisors working to help you succeed in your studies, from the first day of class all the way until you graduate. That's why we launched Advising Week. It's designed for 1:1 meetings with your Student Success Advisor. It's also large group sessions where panelists present the most relevant topics for students, with new content being added every term. Advising Week is where it all happens.

Advising Week is for all students in the College of Adult and Professional Studies, Seminary and Graduate School.

When is the next Advising Week?

We offer Advising Weeks in Fall, Spring and Summer terms. Here are the dates for the 2020-2021 academic year:

Fall 2020

October 26-30, 2020

Spring 2021

March 1-5, 2021

Summer 2021

June 21-25, 2021

Breakout Sessions

During the week, students are invited to attend our virtual breakout sessions. So far, we have offered two distinct sessions, with more to come this year. If you missed either session, or if you're curious to what this is all about, check out the videos below.

Introduction to the Bethel Library

Led by one of our library specialists, this session provides an overview of how to utilize the library system and an introduction to some of the valuable resources they offer.

Advising Basics

Led by a team of advisors, this session focuses on navigating MyBethel, Moodle, self-registration, and Degree Works, as well as other helpful information.

Advising Appointments

Your first term as a new student can bring questions and challenges. We are here to help, and we look forward to meeting you!

During the Advising Week of your first term, you'll be invited to participate in a personalized advising session with your Student Success Advisor. These sessions are about 20 minutes in length, with plenty of time for your specific questions. Your Advisor will send you a link to their calendar so you can find the time that works best for your schedule.

Advising Week Schedule

The Spring Advising Week schedule will be published in early 2021. Meanwhile, if you have a topic you'd like to see us cover, let us know!
