I moved to Minnesota not long after graduating from college and was immediately surrounded by Bethel graduates: from new roommates and coworkers, to my pastor, BSF group, and friends. I was and am still so blessed by the closeness, camaraderie, and character of all the Bethel people I met—so much so that I married a Bethel grad, Lance ’89—and now have a son, Nicolas ’20, that is a Bethel Royal!

Why I love what I do

It is an immense gift to work with people that have a deep love for the Lord and for Bethel students and alumni. It’s also a joy to hear all the ways God has used Bethel in the lives of students and alumni, and the many ways they, in turn, are giving back to the university.

My favorite Bethel memories

Experiencing Welcome Week as a Bethel parent; attending my first Festival of Christmas with our son, Nicolas, singing in the choir; cheering with the crowd as the men’s basketball team won the 2017 MIAC Championship; and working on my laptop in the beautiful spaces around campus.

My guiding scripture verse

So many verses come to mind that have encouraged me and my faith throughout my life, but one particular passage I return to again and again is:

Lamentations 3:21–24: “But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in him.’”

In my free time

When I'm not at work, I love attending our sons’ soccer, basketball, track, and music events; reading; writing; walking; biking; and spending time with my wonderful family and friends.
