Jennifer Scott

Senior Director of University Relations

I graduated from Bethel in 1995 with a bucketful of unforgettable memories, a maturing faith, incomparable friends, and a B.A. in Youth Ministries. Right after graduation, I joined Bethel's campus ministries staff, where I was the assistant director of discipleship for seven years. Concurrently, I worked to complete my M.A. in Theological Studies from Bethel Seminary. Since 2002, I have taught part-time in the Department of Biblical and Theological Studies.

My Best Bethel Memories

My best Bethel memories include: playing on the championship broomball team my freshman year (several of us from the 4th floor of Edgren joined a group of senior guys to win it all), Habitat for Humanity spring break trips to Miami and Mississippi, taking every Dottie Haugen phys. ed. class available, traveling to Chicago during Interim for the Urban Studies course, cheering on the Royals football and basketball teams, and attending Chapel and Vespers with amazing friends.

My Guiding Scripture Verse

I cannot possibly pick one Scripture verse as my favorite, but I can pick three that are regularly on my mind.

The first is Joshua 1:9: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

The second is Proverbs 3:5-7: "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil."

The third is John 9:25: "...One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!"

In My Free Time

Outside of work, I am usually on the sidelines of some field or court cheering for one of our three kids: Levi, Noah, and Cada. My husband, Rob '92, and I love grabbing a bite to eat and watching a movie or running around a tennis court together. We have lifetime friends with whom we share meals, vacations, parenting tips, prayer, and lots of laughs.
